Alekhine’s Defence Four Pawns 5…g6[B03]-TWIC 939

Alexander Alekhine
Here's more on the ex-word champion.

Alekhine’s Defence Four Pawns Attack
The Sergeev Variation 5…g6(diagram)
I have been looking hard for a satisfactory way to play against the Four Pawns Attack and 5...g6 fits the bill. Taylor recommends it in Alekhine Alert!(Everyman 2010).

The idea is logical-...Bg7 pressures the center and then ...c5 is one of the undermining options available.

5...g6

TWIC 939
Sergeev plays his own variation and gets a fully satisfactory position before losing thread of the game in the middlegame.

Here is the feature game.
